Newton College of Education was founded by generous and noble hearted philanthropists of the Thandapanni Pillai and Sons Educational and Charitable Trust with a strong intention of promoting rich education in the tender minds of Velankanni Main Road, Nagapattinam.
This was started with the aim to impart quality Teacher education which focuses on the rural population, belongs to various caste, creed and religion. Success starts with a thought or an idea when nourished with hope and confidence, that idea sprouts, blossoms Newton College of Education is a creation to impart and provide such a knowledge which is strength and power to the society with the learning of the latest developments of the world to meet the growing demand for trained man power.
Since its inception, Newton College of Education (NCE) has been focussing on the formation of intellectual capacity, training of the will and formation of character of the student-teachers, thus ensuring the integral formation of the prospective teachers. NCE is committed to inculcating desirable social and human values and moral principles that would make the student-teachers self-disciplined, value-oriented and responsible teachers. NCE provides also a wide range of opportunities and experiences for student-teachers to discover their potentialities both physical and intellectual and cultivate their artistic and aesthetic sense through cultural extravaganza and nurture their social responsibility through rural / slum exposure camp.
